GLENNMUNSON
Songwriter & Artist
Glenn Munson has been described as having one foot in heaven and one foot in hell, his writing style definitely reflects this.
With moody undertones, simplistic, to the point lyrics swimming in a backdrop of dark and haunting tones and arrangements, it is
clear to anyone that gives a listen, that this is one artist that has many stories to share through his music.
WHO IS GLENN MUNSON?
Before embarking on a career in music, Glenn Munson was born and raised in Suffolk England where he developed a down to earth no thrills approach to life, this would later come to be reflected in his songwriting style, which has been compared to Ben Howard and John Martyn.
Glenn's musical repertoire is filled with opposing ideals, his music has a yearning quality to the ear, expressing a need to feel loved through sound alone, this juxtaposed by a hopeless damnation of all things romantic exposed through his honest and unembellished lyricism is what gives him a unique take on the classic love story.
Glenn's voice is a harsh and unpracticed one that is full of character and emotion, you won't find precise clean tones in anything that he creates, he in his own words is no musician, he just fell into it by chance of finding busted up guitar one night when he was drunk and depressed and it gave him something to do.
Glenn has had the fortune of collaborating with some household names including supporting Phoebe Bridgers on her UK tour in 2017/2018, performing at shows through Kilimanjaro Live and recording at Farm Studios by invitation of Mark Rutherford of Genesis.
Glenn's music is full of love, sex and betrayal, but it is in these themes that we find his ability to manifest the most heart touching moments.
"He writes songs using blunt but imaginative imagery,
Glenn's Music focuses mainly on darker aspects of love, relationships, jealousy, possessiveness and co-dependancy.. dark, love it.. This is what I wanna hear!"
